Event Ideas

One effective but underutilized method of developing a positive outlook gun ownership and range participation is through organized, promoted events.

Mention “organized event” to your typical one-box-all-year “golfing gunowner” and he’ll likely whine about why he doesn’t like competition. Of course, this has nothing to do with a fragile ego…

A group of shooters meet regularly (say, once a month) over the course of a year and follows an outline developed by either the group leader or host organization. The group shoots through that event’s courses of fire, and results/outcomes are posted on the group’s web site.

This type of activity could be used to promote the club/range because responsible citizens are taking the initiative to study this on their own and making it available to the general public.

So what event ideas would attract gun owners? What new venue would bring out folks that haven’t been motivated to participate in the past?
