Good shooting requires good feedback and the only way to get it is learning to keep your eyes open.
It is nearly impossible to progress until the ability to consistently and accurately call shots is developed. That is, seeing the sights lift in recoil as the triggered shot is released. Seeing that tenth of a second window that tells you where your shot really went.
Most gun owners never develop that ability, or even realize its importance. Here is an example of what this is supposed to look like by COL Denise Loring of the USAR Marksmanship Program.
Notice her eye stays open for every fired shot. Man up and learn to shoot like her.

When you can see the whole recoil cycle with the front sight coming back to rest, you can not only call your shot, but the post-recoil resting position is usually your natural point of aim also. If it’s not on your preferred target hold you’re being told something by your rifle.
Then of course there’s the application for handgun shooting as well. Seeing your recoil recovery without blinking is what allows the development of high-speed trigger reflex. Good sight picture, press, recoil, recovery, assess, and either press or correct and press, in under two-tenths of a second.
“Seeing is believing”, right?

You missed a chance at a “sales pitch” for a timely practice technique ….
1) The video is about calling your shot;
2) After her 10th shot, notice COL Loring’s follow-through.
Now, this is a quiz:
Q. How does one develop proper follow-through AND the skill of calling your shot?
A. DRY FIRE!
