The 2022 Mammoth Sniper Challenge, hosted at Fort Gordon, GA has earned a reputation as “the toughest civilian sniper competition in the country.” This year, 104 teams signed up to compete, but only 51 finished. Over the course of three days, teams rucked over 30 miles while carrying everything they needed for the competition. Rucks weighed between 55-60 lbs and each stage had a minimum time standard. At each of the 11 stages, competitors engaged targets of varying sizes, at known and unknown distances.

Major Grant Urick and teammate Brent Wood placed 1st out of a very strong field of competitors. They earned the coveted Mammoth Champion Belt and 1st place “Tough Man” trophy. This is the second time a USAR Soldier has won the Mammoth Sniper Challenge!
