HunterShooter℠, formerly known as Hunter’s Shooting Association℠, is a sport organization promoting field marksmanship events, primarily for big game hunters. Participants use real-world equipment in simulated real-world scenarios.
The HunterShooter℠ system incorporates realistic targets with scoring methods that test accuracy, smooth gun handling and ethical decision making in a hunting environment. This system is capable of simulating the factors of “buck fever” and teaches hunters how to excel in field situations.

HunterShooter℠ is the only organization dedicated to promoting and enhancing field marksmanship amongst hunters. By using real-world equipment in simulated real-world hunting scenarios, hunters finally have a way to test and develop their ability to shoot game. HunterShooter℠ utilizes a complete shooting system, incorporating realistic targets and scoring methods that test accuracy, speed and anatomical knowledge evenly. This system is capable of simulating the factors of “buck fever” and teaches hunters how to cope in field situations. Hunters participating in HS events are required to use practical arms that are truly suitable for hunting.
There are many good organizations that promote hunting. However, they do very little to train and encourage hunters in becoming better field marksmen. Most hunting organizations focus on gear and techniques used before and after the shot, forgetting that marksmanship is what ultimately fills your tag.
HS events are scenario-based, freestyle affairs that test marksmanship, handling skills, and knowledge of big game anatomy. Scoring is based on accuracy, efficiency, and proper shot placement. In other words, the highest score may not go to the fastest or most accurate shooter, but the one who can blend all these elements evenly.
